We had the crap cakes for an appetizer with the Cowboy ribeye. Probably the best ribeye I have ever had! It was amazing. The service did lack though. Had to ask 3 times for bread, order a side of mac and cheese never got it. The waitress also stood over us while I paid. A huge pet peeve of mine. I noticed though the service thought the whole casino was lacking.

I had my first meal ever at Saltgrass in Lake Charles and it was great! Working in a fine dining steakhouse, I am a bit more critical about every little thing. I had great service, wonderful recommendations, and my steak was perfect! The brisket queso - fantastic! Definitely recommend Saltgrass.

Ate here tonight after much debating. I'm not a casino person- can't take the smell. We usually drive the hour to BMT to eat at Saltgrass. With that being said- it was excellent. We sat at the bar and the service couldn't have been any better. We had Crab Cakes as an appetizer, Filet w/Potato Soup, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and other Filet w/Caesar Salad, and Baked Sweet Potato. Everything tasted great and was prepared exactly as requested. We had drinks/beers as well, and felt they were no more expensive than the surrounding restaurants. The only complaint, such as it is- the steak and sides were not piping hot. Very warm, but not hot. This was a Friday night at 7:00, so I can understand why this could be. It wasn't a thing to complain about or point out. Just a personal issue with me. For 2 of us it was $110. before tip. We knew that going in. When you eat at someplace like this you know it's going to be costly- this isn't an every other day meal type place. If you are complaining about the cost- maybe this isn't your type of restaurant. Or, you lost it all in the casino- which we never went into. Came just to eat at Saltgrass, and look forward to coming back next Friday night!

I walk by this place often and see too many people waiting outside...I am not waiting an hour to eat and then pay too much...thanks all for the warnings!! Thanks for saving me lots of money!! We had dinner on a Thursday night. They opened at 4 pm. I had the house salad-it was fresh-but rather small. Main dish was the huge chicken fried steak. Steak was fresh & cut easily. The crust is larger than the steak & falls off easily. This was my second time to order it & both times the crust comes off. It is still very good. The loaded baked potato was hot with cheese , sour cream & bacon. It could have had more toppings. The fresh bread loaf is wonderful & served warm. Service was great.

Really disappointed. I am giving it two stars because the customer service was really good. Every staff member was polite and steadily working. Unfortunately, the food it self was "eh" . Texas tea is a good choice for a cocktail but again the $80 plus we spent in food was nothing to return for.

I really do love Saltgrass back at home. Hadn't had Saltgrass in a long time while we were in lake Charles so we decided to eat here on Sunday afternoon. There was no wait which was great but... Where was our waiter? After gambling and enjoying our night, of course we just want to recover and rehydrate again. Could we at least be acknowledged so we can get some waters? It took a good 10minutes just to be greeted by someone who took out drink order. We met our waiter another 10minutes or so after that. If you are looking for a speedy service... This Saltgrass location ISN'T the place.

As I occasionally work in the Lake Charles area, I decided to try one of the Golden Nugget's restaurant while I was in town. The fried zucchini is very tasty. Although the breading falls off very easily, I will forgive that negative because the lemon pepper that the zucchini is seasoned with is absolutely delicious!! I ordered a 6 oz filet for my entree, which was cooked to a perfect medium. All steaks come with a side and salad. The Mac and Cheese was ok, but nothing to write home about. I must say the graded cheddar cheese on the house salad and what appear to be homemade croutons make the salad.

It was great... It was very busy, the wait to be seated was 45-50 min, which was to be expected at a Saltgrass Steak House... We were served immediately, and our server, Charlie was very professional and attentive to our needs...the appetizers were timely and delicious.. We all order steaks and the were cooked to perfection... All and all, Saltgrass was AMAZING and we plan on going back for Christmas dinner in a few days!!!

This place was probably ONE of the many terrible places I've ate at. I came here with a group of 7 and half of them ordered steak, the sirloin was ok, the ribeye was a bit chewy but still manageable to eat so I'd say it was also ok, the filet minion was tiny and bland. The cheeseburger was fine and the only thing I could eat without complaining. The 3 way shrimp I ordered tasted like from shrimp and had no flavor, especially the breaded fried shrimp, omg It was nasty and the breaking was nasty. The chicken tenders were also breaded in the same coating and it was also gross. Not crunchy, no flavor, bland and it smelt weird like it was cleaned thoroughly. The only thing good was my fried mushrooms. The queso dip was ok, when the chips were gone my server asked if I would like some more so I said yes. I seen him about 3 times after that and still no chips. Oh and my margarita was weak and I couldn't detect any alcohol. Will never eat here again

Prices are higher than any other location, and that is fine if the quality of service and food preparation equates to the price increase, which in this case does no!. My drink order wasn't taken correctly, which warned me of the level of service my guest and I were going to receive. My guest had to request bread twice, and I had to request my drink twice and this was while I was sitting at the bar, which was dead. The place is very small, so this is why people have to wait 1 hour to get seated, because trust me its not the food. My steak was pink in the middle when I request well done, and my guest steak was bleeding all over his plate when he requested his filet to be cooked well done. Would I return to this location? Nope. Don't get me wrong, I love Landrys so much, I am a Landry's Select Member, but this is unacceptable. This location is only good for happy hour drinks monday thru friday 4pm to 7pm other than that, eat elsewhere outside the Golden Nugget.

I'm give this location of SaltGrass, this particular chain is one of my favorites, two stars at best. Our designated server was horrible until we spoke with management, then she was a doll. I ordered the prime rib and it came out less than warm. I asked the server to return it to be reheated on the grill, it came back unchanged. It tasted like the grease sprayed on a grill to prevent food from sticking. However, the manager Marcus was great in trying to rectify the situation. He ensured the remainder of our dining experience was fairly pleasant.

My dad's chicken fried chicken was UNDER COOKED, and when we sent it back the manager came out and said "so the chicken was under cooked" all casual like this was not a health issue. No one apologized just asked If he wanted something else... UMMM no he just had pink chicken.... BUT Marcus came out was amazing and made it better.... The previous manager was a little non emotional... My chicken fried steak was good though lol

Your here in southwest Louisiana and yall don't have seafood Fondo on menu here are you kidding me??? NOPE he wasn't I asked why and never really got answer please BRING it to Lake Charles LA

sucks!!!!!!! because your kitchen is backed up is not my problem, hire more staff morons!!!!! we waited 1hour then was told another 20-30 minutes. never will be back and will tell 10 friends not to go which they will tell 10 of their friends and so on. horrible, horrible customer service!!! they could have at least offered soft drinks or bread something, my seven years old was so hungry never ever will go there, and we have never been. first impressions dip shits are lasting. poor management as usual!!!

We just had an amazing experience here! We were worried about the wait considering it's a Friday night and we got there at almost 9 but we got a table right away. Everyone was polite and welcoming. Our waitress, Elizabeth, was warm and friendly. Even though she pressed the wrong order for our sides (fried asparagus instead of Mac n cheese) they fixed it right away with no questions asked and let us keep both. Even though we didn't need the extra food lol. We both got the surf n turf with the bbq/bacon/cream cheese/japs/shrimp (they have a real name but we just call them delicious). Our steaks were medium rare to perfection, salad was awesome and huge, and turns out we loved the asparagus too! We love having a good steak house option in Lake Charles. It blows Roadhouse and Logan's out of the water. This is our second time there in the past year and I think we will make it around more often! If you see Elizabeth tell her you heard great things about her!
